We took a mini vacation to visit the Skagit Valley tulips as we headed north to Whistler, BC. Addi loves the "pointy" flowers and as always it was spectacularly beautiful. Rows and rows of colorful tulips and it was a picture perfect day.
Then we headed north out of the country to ski at Whistler, Canada, the host country of the 2010 Winter Olympics. There was so much to do at the Whistler Plaza. The Olympic rings and the Paralympic symbols are just like what we saw on TV. The village plazas have several fun, fun playgrounds for the kids to play and climb on. Of course, there are numerous eating places and we visited the Crepe and the Mongolian Restaurants. Oh so, yummy! We did lots of window shopping but shopped at the Hatley Store many, many times as it was Cyndi's favorite store. Yes, it was still snowing in April and the family was able to get in a couple of days skiing. Riding the Gondola up Whistler Mountain and then to Blackcomb Mountain was a breath taking eleven minute ride from peak to peak.
At "home" in the condo, we watched TV, played kids monopoly, laptop & ipad games, and relaxed for the next day's activity. Outside the village, Addi was able to go swimming and ice skating with Matt and Cyndi. Each day was filled with something to do and surely kept us going.
I have attached a short slideshow with all of our pictures to share with you. Enjoy!
